Deep within the ship, the structural integrity failure was absolute. In the mission pod housing, the inertial field sheared completely during the spatial transition. A deck below, main deflector control fared no better; the concussive force of the sudden revert crushed consoles and bulkhead mountings alike. Five Crew killed instantly. Baldwin had moved back to the Damage control station and immediately noted that emergency force fieldswhere now in place. Five souls lost in a single heartbeat, their compartments sealed behind heavy containment doors to isolate localized venting and ruptured EPS trunk lines. RT's Gamma amd Beta had none to save.
An announcement came through the bridge comms: [This is Captain Braggins of the Yeager, I'm taking command of the engagement. Aquila, engage the Battlecruisers marked Contact 2 and 3. Zephyr, engage the Escorts. Do not engage the Dreadnought, do not engage the Dreadnought.]
The Zephyr rocked suddenly and violently. Bridge crew grabbed anything they could hold. Two disruptor blasts had impacted the forward deflectors and two Hideki class Cardassian ships had turned to engage them and were ready to open fire yet again.
Ens Baldwin secured herself in her seat, and broadcast a ship wide message, that everyone needed to know, if they didn't already.
"All ships personnel to evacuate non essential areas as all power is required for the ship. Critically injured, red and yellow tags to sickbay, non life threatening injuries, yellow and green tags to 10 Forward / Crew mess."
Across Baldwin's station came a myriad of damage reports, major damage report where sorted and engineering advised, they would have a better understanding of what was required and what could wait.
Ens Baldwin received a message from her superior officer, Lt Gath, [I've secured the Main Deflector Control] and that he was carrying someone out of the Secondary Hull area and was taking them to Sickbay. Access was very dangerous and should be restricted to emergency teams only. He closed the channel without waiting for an answer. Ava immediately advise sickbay and then advise all that needed to know the Secondary Hull area was now restricted to emergency teams only.
The flow of communication exponentially grew and because of damage to communication lines some had to be rerouted through a number of station to get messages through.
And so the battle continued. To Ava it seemed as if the Zephyr was a Being, under attacked by bacteria, little by little systems where dieing or failing and the Zephyr's immune system, (the repair crews, rescue teams, medical personnel and command teams) tried to stem the tide of this anilating invasion. She had eyeballed death, face to face, as her father lay in her arms dying from a phaser blast. She felt so helpless then... But not here, she was determined that she would make a difference, even if it meant her own death.
