The ship’s corridors were a flow of evacuating personnel. Qi pushed his way against the current, toward the Bridge. He gave a reassuring nod to those along the way who he recognized.
The doors to the bridge slid open. He coughed as the sour smell of tobacco curled into his lungs. The ship tilted hard to one side, causing him to stagger. He braced himself against the bulkheads on his way to the vacant science station.
“I recommend we unmask our probe,” Qi suggested, loud enough to be heard over the clamor. “We’re a single target, but they may hesitate if they see a new dot on their radar.”
