Cindy saw that Julia wanted to help, so she approached her, "Julia, I know that you want to help, but you're also still technically a patient. Let's try to find ways that you can help, but not risk straining yourself."
Cindy looked around and with hands on hips she began to think out loud, "You know, what we should be capitalizing on is your experience. You can help supervise some of our technicians creating spare inventory and stacking them out of the way. Delegate some of their muscle with your experience. If things get bumpy, try to not do any heavy lifting, but it isn't going to strain you to do some triage and making sure people are in the right places. If it really gets bad, we're going to need you to help trauma patients deal with what's happened to them. Frankly, I hope you're not going to have much to do, but if real fighting breaks out, you're going to be plenty busy."
Cindy finally locked eyes with ehr again and smiled, "How does that sound?"
