==Back-posting – again, figured a stinky post was better than no post!==
On the big, center screen Art had created for the department, she began writing down what she knew as facts.
Cardassian Escorts, Hideki-class – with their locations and then a quick run-down of their armorments and capabilities.
Cardassian vessels, Cruiser-class – with a tight paragraph listing their stats, as well.
Starbase 214: Flanked on all sides by 9 Cardassian Escort vessels – accompanied by each cluster’s location
Currently on Base: UFOP President – she did not feel good about advertising that information, but it was needed.
Watching everything laid out in front of her, Art thought it was rather like a pack of vultures surrounding its not-yet-dead prey. Prey that was large, juicy, and had enough meat that the vultures wouldn’t even have to fight each other for a good piece. She felt as if the minutes slowed as she watched the ships’ positions move slowly, ever-so-slightly, just carefully enough that it may have been mistaken for loitering, even. What were they waiting for? What was the signal?
On Art’s screen, a massive energy signal came into view, and the animal kingdom analogy immediately changed. They weren’t vultures. They were hyenas. And the chief of the pack had just arrived. Meanwhile, the Chief of Security could only stand by, stupidly, and wait for her enemy to make the first move.
