==Combined CO and GM post==
Jenny didn't get a chance to respond to Chertstone's comment about continuing to navigate close to the Cardassian formation. As if someone had stuck a neon sign on the Yeager's nacelles that said 'they're over here!', the Cardassian's sensor sweeps began to track towards the Yeager. Not all at once, but quickly enough that it would only be moments before they were detected, silent running or not. Cradling the stub of the cigarette between her fingers, Jenny was once again put in the mind of old-Earth submariners as they approached their target, only to be shaken by the banshee shriek of a sonar array.
"T'Lari, be prepared to dump the mines. Flint, on my order, full impulse on whatever course puts the mines between us and them."
There wasn't a whole lot of time before every fire control system locked onto the Yeager and she was blasted into little more than space dust. Which meant that most, if not all, of the hundred and twenty crew aboard would be killed. That would be one hundred and twenty letters sent out by Starfleet Command starting with the immortal words "Starfleet Command regrets to inform you..." One hundred and nineteen lives squandered by their reckless Captain for no reason, or so the media and her detractors in the fleet and government would say.
Not happening.
Jenny quickly compiled a list of effectively non-combatant personnel. If they didn't have a battle station that involved combat systems or damage control, they were surplus to requirement. It would degrade the capabilities of the ship if casualties started mounting, but they didn't need a science department during a firefight, unless those scientists also happened to be cryptographers. Once the list was complete, she fired off text notifications to their stations to report to the Glamourous Glennis for immediate debarkation, twenty names that wouldn't appear on a casualty report.
"Qab; report to the Aeroshuttle bay and prepare to launch the Glennis and run like hell. She can do Warp Nine in a pinch so you can outrun anything they have; the first Starfleet ship you come across, tell them everything that happened here so far. Tell them we're engaged and require immediate reinforcement."
Jenny quickly tapped a few buttons on a PADD and held it up for the young Andorian.
"There is a complete copy of our sensor logs here. Also your field promotion to Ensign; you're in command of the Glennis, get those people to safety."
Waving Qab away with a hand, Jenny returned her attention to the situation at hand. The Cardassians had now changed course and were heading towards the Yeager, which meant they knew something was lurking there, if not what or who - they'd already be dead if they'd been detected.
"T'Lari, release the mines."
As the mines floated free of the various openings in the Yeager's hull, the confirmation that the Glennis had departed appeared on her terminal. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, Jenny focused her mind on the task at hand - keeping the Cardassians busy enough to delay their attack on Starbase 214.
"Go, Flint! Red alert! Quantum torpedoes at the Dreadnought, full spread!"
