Kalli was paying attention to what information they were getting, but most of it didn't seem to give her much. Her interest perked up when she saw the energy reading and wanted to know more. She would take a closer look at that and the spectrum it was operating in shortly, but people were still talking and things were still going on, so she remained quiet at the moment. It was starting to sound a bit familiar, but not in a good way. The only thing that made Kalli feel any better about it was that she knew it was a program and not a real mission. Her heart had skipped a beat though, as she had encountered certain entities in her past and one of those was the mission she had to carry Alex out to their shuttle, almost two miles away.
Carley then then spoke up and added her thoughts and it triggered something in Kalli's memory, "Wait! That's it! Noah! That's our first solid lead." She pulled out her PADD and began tapping away on it, but talked as she did so, "It wasn't an arch, it was called an ark, which was a really strange word for a boat. When I was growing up, I had a friend who told me stories from her religion. One of them we debated was the story of Noah. We discussed all sorts of details and discoveries and so on, but the important thing is that there was a book."
Kalli brought up the passage from a translation of a Bible that listed the Book of Genesis, chapter 6, verses 14-22. She held it out and showed it to them. It was the part of the story that described the boat and how to save the people chosen to survive.
Kalli then said for all to hear, "I think that's the first piece of this puzzle that is actionable and gives us something to work from. These structures are all under water because they were destroyed by water. Some kind of flood took them all out. It is possible that they were taken out on purpose, but I don't know if we're supposed to take the story that literally or not. It wouldn't be the first time I encountered an entity that could do so. Such an entity nearly killed Commander Talion once." She turned to Ethan, "Yep, I carried him almost two miles that day. Hard to forget that." She shook her head, "The thing is, this would mean that whatever we're running into is either part of how the chosen were able to survive, which could be a good thing, or it might be part of how everything else was destroyed, in which case, the remains of that destructive power could still be around to make sure that what it destroyed stays destroyed. I would much rather it be some kind of device to contend with than a life form that can do such things, but that's about all I can offer right now." She pointed at the image of tracks that simply stopped, "Those tracks simply stopping doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. For that to happen, one of three things has to happen. The vehicle is cloaked and is still there, it was transported away, meaning serious power and technology active to do so, or something literally picked it up and carried in away."
She then turned to Jez and Cologero with a big grin and a sweeping gesture with her arms, "Lieutenants...discuss..."
Then, in a more hushed tone, she turned to Carley and said, "I didn't know Commander Velaul was religious..."
