The probe was fired and sent on its merry way. Telemetry from the probe came back quickly, confirming the status of the unit and all of its sensors, and they began questing out towards the subspace distortion.

Unfortunately, the distortion was on the opposite side of the system, approximately eight light-hours away from Artemis' position. It was going to be the better part of twelve hours before the probe was in position to begin returning detailed data, perhaps less if Artemis moved further in system.
