The Os'rusa. Of course it was the Os'rusa. T'Lari fought a twinge of irritation. The Romulans called this sort of thing Anseeleh, the "fated foe." The humans called it "nemesis." She just wondered if the universe had a sense of humor.
"Call Battlestations but remain in Grey Mode for now. Flint, I want an intercept course plotted and updating. Likewise, T'Lari, get me a firing solution on the Os'rusa. Passive sensors only. Let's not give our position away just yet."
"Firing solution, aye." In her career the half-Vulcan had gotten good at 'firing from the hip,' having taken more than a few shots without using anything more than passives and her own eyes. Several Cardassian fighters had been reduced to exploding wreckage in previous fights without an active phaser or torpedo lock. Her fingers moved gracefully over the console, dialing in a targeting reticle on the Cardassian warship as she did a few mental calculations. As soon as the word was given she'd punch the Os'rusa...
Eagerness for battle is not logical. Do not allow your emotions to control you.
It was difficult. There was a part of T'Lari, likely due to her wild upbringing and Romulan blood, that wanted to slap the warship out of the sky as soon as Captain Braggins gave the word. She took a breath and centered herself. In recent months she'd found that she was actually more calm and focused in battle... but the battle hadn't started yet. And it would be best for all concerned if it didn't.
"Solution plotted, Captain. Weapons ready at your order."
