Gath gave a small sigh but remained silent. Cortez was not wrong in wanting to communicate and his questions were valid, but he had no sense of timing. Not only did Cortez make them sound like irritating children with endless questions while not waiting for an answer to any of them, but this was the Captain's show, not any of the rest of them. He should have been prepared to ask such questions, but to not wait for the Captain to be ready to ask them was a clear violation of the protocol set before him. Gath also could not risk making a scene by addressing the issue in front of the guest. If it happened again, Gath might have to resort to simply having Cortez transported out to eliminate the risk of the damage to the diplomatic process in progress.
If anything from the efforts resulted in a security situation, he would not hesitate to bring Cortez up on charges. At the very least, Gath would be having a long conversation with the Captain about who would be allowed at such an event in the future. This risk was not worth it.
== Nothing was mentioned about the timing, no waiting for signal from the CO or even waiting for an answer to each question given, thus Gath's attitude is that we're interrupting them and not waiting for answers. Gath is not saying anything, but his glare to Cortez is speaking volumes. ==
