Ju spoke so fondly of Korea, of how it was her favourite place to be and how good it was to see her brother become a father. Something Ardanna could relate to in some way, especially when it came to her one and only sibling. Although Arman had yet to settle down and showed no signs of doing so, as the freighter was his everything, and he was happy, which was the important thing. As for the subject of relationships, the words spoken by both Ju and Hally held a lot of meaning, and Ardanna appreciated everything that was said, because she believed in this relationship and was prepared to put everything into it, as Ollie was more than just a fling to her. They had taken the time to get to know one another, something that would be ongoing as their relationship progressed. While she understood the risks, the lurking danger they often faced as part of their job, nothing was going to frighten her away from being in love.

She was, as they used to say, in for the long haul, and Ollie had managed to do something no other man had achieved, and for that Ardanna knew she would receive the respect and love that she deserved.

The brunette also liked how languages came so easily to Hally, before the pilot answered Ju's next question about where they were originally from and what had led them to the Fleet. For Hally, that had been Trill initially, a place the security officer had never been to, sharing more of her background until she revealed how she had ended up on the Ark Royal, and what had ultimately led her to having the career she had now, including time spent on Cardassia, and her involvement in the Youth Ambassador Programme. Ardanna didn't mind the long story and explanation, finding it interesting and how it differed from her own story.

When it became her turn, Ardanna wasn't afraid to share, especially the tragedy that had transformed her life, and led her to a path no one had expected. " I should probably start at the beginning. I was born and raised on a freighter called The Raven, and life was good until we encountered pirates who attacked us, killing my parents and others in the process. Luckily for the rest of us, rescue came in the form of the USS Monarch. After that awful day, seeing what they had done for us, and realising as I got older that I didn't want to be on a freighter anymore, I applied to the Academy, got in on my second attempt and decided to go into Security, with a minor in system maintenance thanks to what I'd learned growing up".

That was just the short version, and even now, the memory of what happened still haunted her, but at least she didn't have to hide anymore and be who she was supposed to be because of it.
