AQ/D10 - Ten Forward
#10
==Commander Michael Denton Chief of Security( Retired), Temp NRC ==

Mike smiled when Cindy said, "Calm down, big guy; she's still cooking it. No need to sprint all the way there when a casual walk will suffice. Enjoy your meal though and don't forget our date in the holodeck tomorrow."

Mike couldn't help but think that he was, on a basic level, the target of a conspiracy to relentlessly tease him about his size. Yes, Mike was six foot seven inches tall and a solid three hundred and fifty pounds. Yes, Cindy's “Big Guy” comment was clever, and it didn’t go unnoticed, but he decided to let it slide. “Wait, you're not coming to dinner?” inquired Mike. Mike had assumed that they could talk over the holodeck training in regards to his implant.

Mike just shook his head when Cindy made the factually incorrect statement, "Guys are always in such a rush. I think they're afraid to miss out on something."

==Lieutenant K'Vada, Klingon/ Vulcan, Temp Science NRC ==

K’Vada smiled as she more or less knew that human men were often fragile when it came to their egos. K’Vada smiled and turned to Cindy and said, " I’m not aware of any scientific finding that men as a group are always in a rush, but there are some biological, psychological, and social factors that can contribute to the perception that many men seem more hurried or focused on not missing opportunities.

Some research suggests that, on average, men score slightly higher on traits related to competitiveness, risk-taking, and status-seeking. Evolutionary psychologists have proposed that throughout human history, males often benefited from quickly pursuing opportunities related to resources, social standing, or mating prospects. Those tendencies may still influence behavior today, although culture plays a huge role as well. Or it’s just that men are just overgrown children, who sulk when they don't get their way.” Her voice was filled with mischievousness.

“Ugghh,,, Kvinner!!(Women) Said Mike, as he shook his head in disbelief. Mike stood up and offered to escort Cindy back to Jez’s quarters, hoping that if he offered her his arm, she would join them for dinner.

K’Vada’s face lit up when Cindy turned to Coppola and asked, "I guess your date didn't work out. You two seemed to hit it off pretty nicely though. I wouldn't give up just yet, but I'm also not the best person to take dating advice from. Being a synthetic doesn't exactly inspire a romantic attraction, but I'm good with that."

K’Vada thought of Cologero as a friend, maybe even more than a friend, “ A little cha'bIp (a bird noted for its speed.) told me that congratulations are in order. You’re our new Chief Tactical Officer; well done, well done. Qapla' Said K’Vada, as she held up her drink. She knew that Cologero was working hard and deserved recognition.

The rumor, especially in the Science Department, was that Lieutenant Young was promoted as well. K'Vada, like Carley, though she hadn't worked with her all that much; that was because they worked different shifts. However, if K'Vada happened to use the same workstation as Carley had, Carley left it immaculate. If by chance they were working on the same experiment, Carley's notes were absolutely next level, detailed, factual and easy to understand; still, K'Vada was confused. If Lt. Young was the new Chief Science Officer, what was Commander Talion? "Congratulations, Carley." Added K'Vada.
