Mara's reaction to the crisps was a little unexpected at first, until it dawned on Aeryn that the savoury treat must be exclusive to Earth and the research station where she had grown up. In a way, this should be a good thing, witnessing whether her friend would like them or not, and so there was some trepidation as Mara opened the first packet and took out a crisp. Her questions were understandable, as the Bandaran then ate it without waiting for Aeryn's answer.

The redhead then grinned as Mara gave her verdict and thanked her, before the Science Chief explained a bit more about crisps in general while opening the second packet, which was cheese and onion flavour. " Crisps are a savoury snack made out of thinly sliced fried potato, then they get covered in various flavourings, and put into packets like these. I've always enjoyed them, and these are made locally. You've tried the bacon, now try the cheese and onion, see what you make of them".

There were numerous flavours for them to try if Mara was interested, but since this was her first ever time having crisps, it was best to introduce them slowly until Mara ultimately found a favourite or several favourites like Aeryn. While she waited to see how Mara fared with the second pack, Aeryn helped herself to a handful of bacon crisps, then took a sip of cider to wash it all down.
