Midshipman Qab'ataar recording
I'm on board the USS Lowry, en route to my first assignment after graduating from the Academy, the USS Yeager. Now that the damage repair drill is complete, I've been granted a little extra time off-duty for excellent performance. Huh, and I thought that sort of thing just happened at the Academy.
Anyway - the Yeager. Both the scientist and the pragmatist in me ensure I'm putting in due diligence to find out what I can about my first assignment. Built in....wait, designed by a Pakled!? I guess they really do like to make things go. Her reputation is all over the place, with some stopping just shy of calling her a pirate ship, and others singing her praises as if she single-handedly saved the galaxy. The truth, as always, likely falls somewhere in between, in the more common, yet untold tales of her accomplishments and contributions.
My CO is Captain Jennifer Braggins. What was generally accessible by even a lowly Midshipman painted a very interesting picture. A highly capable maverick that had caused a fair amount of chaos and harm, yet also pulled off some truly stupendous saves at crucial moments. They do say that a ship often takes on the personality of her captain, and that definitely seems to be the case here.
My Department Head, Lieutenant Commander Qi is a bit more of an enigma. There's not much here beyond his service record; that being said, having earned a commendation medal before being promoted to Ensign is no small thing. He's a Trill...only recently joined it says. I do wonder what sort of impact that's had on his demeanor and personality.
