A written communication came to the security station on the bridge and the officer drew Lt Gath 's attention to it.

Lt Gath, I have explored all the information available on the Aliens currently in Sickbay to find a way to neutralize any threat that may pose if it came to that, which included, electric shock, sedation, oxygen deprivation and blunt force trauma. I have included the full computer analyses as a file to this report.
Results show:
Electric Shock - INEFFECTIVE - the metallic compound in their skeletal structure was indeed highly conductive to raw voltage, the exceptionally thick myelin sheathing around their nervous system acted as a heavy-duty, biological insulator. THE ELECTRICAL CHARAGE NEEDED TO DISABLE WOULD BE FATAL.
Chemical Sedation - POSSIBLE - BUT, due to their hyper-efficient metabolisms and dense physiology, they would require a localized concentration approximately four hundred percent higher than the standard humanoid dosage. DELIVERY IS ALSO AN ISSUE.
Oxygen Deprivation - INEFFECTIVE - their secondary cardiovascular nodes would allow them to enter a state of localized micro-hibernation to preserve their core organs. THEY COULD LAST UP TO 45 MINUTES BEFORE SUFFERING BRAIN DAMAGE.
Blunt force trauma - POSSIBLE BUT HART TO EXICUTE -Best position for blunt force to induce unconsciousness was the base of the skull at the back of the neck. However, strike to this area would require immense force—equivalent to a full-force blow from a dense, heavy weapon, or a direct physical strike from a species with naturally augmented strength, such as a Klingon or a Vulcan.
Other tactical methods need to be considered that would limit their advantage, such as make our intentions known as peaceful using diplomacy and logic to avoid conflict, using the holodeck as a deception in some way, incarceration in an strongly fortified area, use of gravity, using escape pods to eject them from the Zephyr, or in extreme case an air lock. Obviously, choice of battle field conditions that favour the Zephyr crew i.e. if we are to wake them, that needs to be done in a very secure area, or only partially awaken then move the aliens to a very secure area. Or a combination of any of these methods.
