More people from the crew arrived, specifically Lucy and Carol, whom Aeryn didn't know that well. It seemed as though the Tactical officer was keen to try out one of the hiking trails, while Lucy didn't say anything. Aeryn hoped that would change, as the redhead turned her attention back to the conversation, and she loved how close they had become, if that was possible, but then again, when you lived and worked out in dark recesses of space, it was bound to happen, especially after seeing and experiencing everything they had lately, and more. They might be referred to as a slightly dysfunctional family, but they were family regardless.
Robin referred to Aeryn about which trail would be best for Carol, and Aeryn happily obliged since she had explored pretty much all of them over some years.
" If you want more of a challenge, then yeah, Pike O'Stickle is the one for you".
The group was soon diverted to the food tables by Robin, and just in time too, as the next lot of meat became ready, along with some corn on the cob, making Aeryn's stomach sing in unison. The CMO spoke to Carol again, while Aeryn motioned to Lucy and Omdor to join them if they so wished, catching the end of her friend's comment as she mentioned that they might be there for a while.
" That's the plan, and when it starts getting dark, we've been invited back to Gray and Mitchell's pub, and if you do end up exploring the Pike trail, then I recommend taking some food and drink, as it can be deceiving and you'll definitely need a break or two".
Realising that Mara wasn't with them, Aeryn turned and called to her. " Is there anything you want me to bring you back?".
Of course the redhead had noticed how quiet Mara had gone, but at least Aeryn had given her the option to follow or not, and would happily take more food back for her friend if needed.
