== NRC. Lt. K’vada, Science Officer, Klingon/ Vulcan Hybrid. ==
K’vada tilted her head slightly when Reese said, "There is something, though I believe you would like better, not from the U.S., it's from Japan. The Bushi came from Buke, which means warrior family and warrior; they lived and died by the sword, most of them with Honor. We can re-create a battle in early Japan, heck, we can put Klingon Warriors against the same amount of Samurai. It should be a good battle."
K’vada had read of the Terran Samurai; she recalled that the Samurai were the hereditary military nobility and officer caste of medieval and early-modern Japan from the late 12th century until their abolition in the 1870s. Known as bushi, these elite warriors followed the Bushido code—emphasizing loyalty, honor, and discipline—and served as retainers to daimyo landowners and the shogun. These Samurai were, in fact, very similar to the Klingon Warriors' own code of honor.
K’vada regretted that she never got a chance to visit Japan while she was a cadet back at the Academy. She had seen holoimages of the Samurai armor and their swords. It was amazing the similarities between the Kingsons and the Samurai, both were a warrior cultures, both valued Honor, both used distinct weapons, and both had a tea ceremony. Unlike the Japanese tea ceremony, the Klingon tea ceremony was a test of courage. The two participants both ingested tea that had been brewed from a poisonous plant and recited poetry to each other. To many Klingons, Death is an experience best shared, like the tea.
K’vada noticed her friend Jez leaving; she seemed upset. K’vada knew she had to go and make sure Jez was alright. K’vada knew that Jez was in a bad place right now. The idea of her mate beating her, taking away her honor, K’vada would have destroyed Devyn. Klingons now that women are the foundation of civilization and she be treated and revered; they are the Mothers of civilization. If it weren’t for women, there would be no civilization.
“Reese, you know these Samurai well? I like your idea of combining Klingon warriors with Samurai, but for now, I must tend to other matters. I will be in touch, my friend,” said K’vada.
K’vada got up and headed after Jez.
