“Mogtesh,” Said Per to the Barman, “Maybe our guest would like some... Water.” The tone of her voice was condescending.
Flint blinked as he fought the slowly easing burn, luckily, he'd had the sense to have taken an alcohol inhibitor before he'd left the ship. Given his penchant for drinking and having a good time, he was on occasion, sensible.
“Not this early, Darling.” He said taking a breath, and a smile forming on his lips. “The night is still young. I'll take another too.” and then a beat later. “And, a glass of water..”
Mogtesh let out a great belly laugh. “You know Jentsh, you should keep this one. He's funny.” He said before he caught a glimpse of another patron wanting a drink further down the bar.
“So, you're obviously the one one who was flying that Federation monstrosity today.” Par said fixing Flint with a pointed glair while this time she sipped her third drink.
“Guilty as charged.” He replied. “Flint Chertstone.” he added holding out his hand.
Per looked at the appendage. She considered breaking it. She was not accustomed to coming second. But after a second, she accepted it. “Of course you are.” she said. She had no idea about Human names, but being a pilot, and a female. She had learnt to recognise the type early on. Apart from the fact that she hadn't recognised his species when he'd entered. She had recognised the demeanour that all cocky pilots had regardless of origins. And they almost always had some kind of pseudonym.
Given that he seemed to have taken some kind of blocker that had slowed the effects of the £&^%£( , Jentsh decided to put on her best fixed smile and put the Human at ease. “So now that we're acquainted and... friends. 'Flint', Why don't you start telling me all about your ship. And how that bucket of bolts beat me today so that when we have a rematch I can squash you like a bug.”
Flint smiled back. It was starting to become an interesting evening.
