Sebastian was relieved that Lieutenant Ra’an didn’t laugh at his silly phobia. He was rather embarrassed at having such an irrational fear, not to mention admitting it to his Superior Officer. As far as what he could be afraid of, small confined spaces is the phobia that made the least sense. Why couldn’t he be afraid of snakes, or mountain lips, or Klingon Targs, things that make sense to be scared of because they could, in fact, kill a person,

Sebastian looked at the Lieutenant when she said, "I can try, as long as it's not something that is going to cause any issues that might affect your safety or the safety of the crew," she offered. "Is it the suit or the shuttle? Or both?"
Sebastian stood there and thought about every episode of claustrophobia he had. Was it in things like shuttles, shuttle pods, escape pods, or was it just anytime he had to don an EVA Suit or Scuba Gear? Most incidents occurred when he had any helmet that blocked his peripheral vision
“No, Lieutenant, small things like Shuttles, Jefferies tubes, Bio beds are fine, it’s just anything that blocks my peripheral vision, like the helmets of an EVA Suit, is what causes me panic. I know it’s a silly childish fear to have, I just can’t help it.” Sebastian said, with his head hung low in shame.
