Lt Thorn took a step closer to the work area in the lab. She took a few scans and reflected on the data that had been collected during the previous process. After a moment, she turned to Lt Khasim and gave a nod before speaking, "Okay, I think I've found a way that will make this viable with their current technology. You brought in the duridium as a preconstructed source, which they don't have. It is also annoying to replicate in the form we store it in, but that's not what is required for the refinement process. If we list the rianite in the subroutine as a dangerous contaminant and the implementation of bonding it with duridium as the containment protocol, the transport process can create individual atoms and form molecules of the rianite as needed to separate the contaminants and isolate them in a safe way. Technically, you can program the transporter to simply not materialize the rianite, in the same way you can take away a weapon that is contraband and have it not rematerialize in transport, but this neutralizes the potentially dangerous compound and serves as a control for accountability of the hazardous substance, so we'll go with keeping it materialized as part of the process. You'll still want a containment field with a secondary backup, so that you can safely contain the ionized radiation being used for the formation of the dilithium crystals in the form of the template pattern. I've adjusted the process so that there can be a constant repeating loop of this refinement going on where it draws raw material from the source target area and forms complete assemblies at the end, then moving it along a small conveyor to place it in a holding area until it can be retrieved safely when the ionized radiation is periodically removed and replaced. This should allow a slow but very effective refinement and production process that they can use to make this resource viable for their purposes."
