Brennan hadn't gotten much of a chance to get to know his fellow mates at all and decided to join the mentioned gathering inside the mess hall. Still getting to know the habits of the ship and how people coordinate with each other, he arrived in uniform, but with a more relaxed style of personality, knowing that this was supposed to be a more casual place to be on the standard.
He observed numerous people and different species all gathered in the same room. Truly, the definition of Starfleet in a single room, a melting pot making the most of what Zephram Cochran had in mind.
He went over to a replicator briefly.
"Southern sweet tea, cold, and with ice."
The machine whirred to life and produced for him the cold beverage he had grown to love in his childhood. It was always classically made with a balance of more sugar than water.
He saw a few people that he recognized, the captain, for one, and the commander. He presumed one to be the tactical officer after seeing the back of his head and a very clear tactical uniform with a rank higher than his. He attempted to make himself known and bring himself into the conversation simply by standing and listening to the others. When there was a brief break, he simply said "Hello, everyone" in a thick southern accent.
