Keir was listening throughout the conversations and was very pleased as the new young symbiont host showed surprising maturity, despite the disconnected and self-involved persona he had previously projected. S/he hoped that hir lack of interaction with him had not contributed to that lack of involvement in the mission but he did seem to suddenly be willing to share his thoughts.

The Captain addressed hir regarding that and after giving the topic some consideration, s/he spoke up.

"In my experience those sort of disputes that revolve around the implied worth of one civilization's material or technological contribution to a proposed alliance always seems to come down to the pride that each have for what they bring to the table.
Both of these worlds are capable of stepping up and assisting each other with those resources which they have a unique supply of. But convincing them that the perceived value of what they offer is always going to be clouded by personal pride.

Not sure how one gets past that. But;" and s/he paused to catch C'had's eye." I guess that is why we are transporting You sir and not trying to get us to stick our noses in."

S/he shrugged and smiled warmly, "I am heartened by your comprehensive summary though and I feel confident you have the situation well in hand."
