Talion dutifully fell in step to prepare to move to their next location. He really wasn't interested in meeting thhe President and getting into more diplomatic conversations, but he had little choice. He wanted to simply retrieve their people and their equipment and if these people wanted either, then they cound get them through diplomacy, not violence. He hated bullies and those who got what they wanted through violence. Violence should be defeated through denial and, if needed, superior violence to discourage further attempts. He realized that hiis own opinions were not always the best approach though. His issues with violence were his own flaws and he knew that he was prone to an over protective nature.
He remained silent as they arrived. There was only the smallest hint of a wince as he endured yet another site to site transport event. Talion would never get used to the process. The sound of their footsteps punctuated the atmosphere of the situation and it helped him to mentally brace himself for the meeting.
Reflexively, his mind was listening for any open and unguarded thoughts in the room, as well as emotions. When his name was spoken in introduction, he was looking at their host and gave a subtle but polite nod. It seemed to him that the less any of them said the better for now. Too much time had been wasted already.
When Mala began speculating out loud about things, he wanted to roll his eyes, but forced himself not to. The fact that their footsteps were so amplified should have been her clue that the acoustics of the place were such that it would do the same thing with voices. He made a mental note to ask the CMO if Mala had a medical condition that might require medication to help her control such impulses. He realized that such thoughts were coming to him more often, now that he was a parent, but that was perhaps the side effect of raising a gifted, but sometimes willful child. He never would have thought about behavior in those terms before becoming a parent and those combined thoughts caused him to relax a little as a result, because as odd as it might have sounded to others, it comforted him to think of himself as a parent now.
While the FO was speaking, Alex tried his best to take in the details of the room and all that was going on around him. His gifts might not reveal anything significant, they rarely did, but as a scientist, his powers of observation were often his best source of data.
== GM Input: Just looking for anything that might stand out or that he might pick up that has not already been mentioned. ==
