It wasn't intentional (Robin had just picked a song at random), but Don't Stop Believin' was proving to be a perfect song for the group. It had an unusual structure and a late chorus that everyone could join in. All three of her friends had distinctive voices, but it worked. Probably one reason the song had lasted so long as a karaoke favorite.
As the song reached the chorus Robin joined in, her voice matching the others as her fingers flew across the keys.
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlights, people
She'd heard Aeryn and Lucy sing before and both were very talented. And the nurse remembered Hallowette from the Academy chorus. She had a fine voice, and if she had lacked confidence back then it wasn't anything that the Augment didn't understand. It had taken a while (and more than a few bad situations) for Robin to gain confidence. Hally would too. Robin's own voice was a fairly high, a "head voice" called by some (incorrectly) as falsetto. She sang with perfect pitch, matching the others as the chorus progressed.
I needed this. It's been way too long.
