Morad turned to his First Officer.
"Keir, your perspective on his age and the need to guide him toward the mission's importance is also very insightful. A war between these cultures is indeed the bigger picture."
He then focused on the new, critical piece of information Dr. O'Fee had provided.
"Doctor, you said Mediator Kestir has taken a shine to Midshipman Tyris-McEntyre. That's not a problem. That's an opportunity. It gives us a positive point of contact, a way to build rapport." He paused for a second then continued. "I want you to assign Midshipman Tyris-McEntyre as the Mediator's primary medical liaison. He will handle the routine check-ins, be the first point of contact for any non-emergency needs, and generally serve as a friendly face from your department. It leverages a connection that's already forming and allows you, as Chief Medical Officer, to maintain a necessary professional distance, which seems prudent given your initial interaction."
Ameen looked from O'Fee to Keir. "We will provide a professional and supportive environment. We will give him the space he needs to acclimate, and we will use the channels he seems most open to. For now, this information stays in this room."
He offered a slight nod, indicating that part of the discussion was addressed. "Now, unless there are other immediate concerns, we have a dinner to prepare for. One that is now a critical first-contact assessment. Let's get back to our duties."
