"Lieutenant, as I am not as familiar with all of the culture propriety of these two worlds, would it not be prudent to include some music that may be from other parts of the galaxy that are similar in nature to our guests? While they will, of course, be partial to the music they already know; there has been significant studies shown that mutually shared experiences can form bonds. Since the music from other worlds would be new to both sides, they could have a shared experience in both of them experiencing new music that they may have not heard."
Amila began nodding enthusiastically as Ensign Powl shared his thoughts.
"You know, you're completely right. People will have more fun if they know the songs that we're playing. That's a great point," she said agreeably. "I got a little too hyper-focused on the cultural immersion notes, but this is a dinner party in our guest's honor. We should make it fun. There will be plenty of time for work later. Do you have some suggestions? Anything that you like that you'd want to add?" She asked.
"You can call me Amila," she added. "I really prefer it over ranks and formalities. Especially when we're off duty, or just sitting around talking like this." Amila placed her PADD to the side. "Ranks can be so impersonal, don't you think?"
She glanced casually at the Ensign's PADD, as she wondered what he'd been typing.
