[Task complete Flight Control, the baby is back snug as a bug in a rug.]
Hally furrowed her brow at her colleague's colloquial phrase. She finally felt accomplished at her duties, demonstrating that she might in fact actually belong on the bridge, and then that - over the bridge coms for all to hear.
Had Hallowette been more of a stickler for procedure, or perhaps a tad less STOKED at not only managing to coordinate things, but better yet placing her new shipmates in a safer, more controlled environment, then she might have let the shuttle pilots quip irritate her. But Hallowette WAS STOKED.
"Shuttle Teams, well done. RTB and redress standby status."
[Aye Sir, RTB.]
Hally had only been called Sir a couple of times since graduating. Once at a formal and very staged event at her commissioning and once by accident when a Crewman almost knocked her over while running to his alert station during preparation drills. Otherwise, all of the enlisted - the only crew on the hook to consider her a superior - by and large just called her Midshipman or Middle. Having a peer call her "Sir" felt good, even if she wasn't sure it was quite earned.
She did her best to control her joy before she turned in her seat, glanced at Lt. Grant and then addressed the 1st Officer.
"Commander, I'm pleased to report that both the q'oH and the Artemis are back and idle in a stable area of the Nebula. We are well within the Comm Buoy net, and no further damage was sustained by either ship during the ferry, and Shuttles are returning to standby."
Hally turned to the science station and a obliged expression crossed her face before she mouthing silently towards both officers there. "Thank you." She accompanied the sentiment by placing her hand palm down on her chin and gesturing downward, the UFP sign for thanks.
She then returned her attention to her station, sitting a bit more confidently in the chair as she resumed her duties.
