It was more than a little surprise that the person on the shuttle matched the person they were looking for, there was a good chance he was being framed for all of this giving them more reason to talk. "Captain I have confirmed that the person we are looking for is on that shuttle." There was a part of him that wanted to beam the man directly to the Brig, however this would be illegal. 

"I am awaiting orders about what to do next Captain." The safe way to do things would be in the hands of him, it would also be a learning point for him.

[Daniel Brooks]

"Captain I have started a health and safety check on the Orion shuttle, we picked up a transporter signal to the shuttle. We are not sure if it is our P.I. or if its a P.O.N.I." Sometimes he forgot that not everyone would understand. "The difference is Person of interest and none." He was pretty sure that the Captain could figure out what he said with that. "If he was smart this trail would be a false trail for us to follow, chances are equally high that he didn't do it set up to take the fall by someone." reported in Coppola.

Daniel nodded and looked at the view screen, "Let's monitor them while we await for the scans, it wasn't long before Coppola came back with,

"Captain I have confirmed that the person we are looking for is on that shuttle."

Daniel nodded and took a seat in the command chair thinking for a moment,

"Get a tractor beam ready and on standby to hold onto that shuttle." he ordered,

Brooks then said, "Open a frequency to the shuttle."

Once the communications was open he said, "This is Captain Daniel Brooks of the USS Aquila, I believe there is a person aboard your shuttle we are very interested in, please hand them over without causing us any trouble, your ship will not out run us and believe me when I say my crew are very highly skilled in disabling you. So in the interest of safety of yourselves, hand over the person we believe is on your vessel. Description is being sent over to you now."

He watched intently the shuttle on the view screen.

Opening a channel like Captain Brooks had ordered, he was still keeping an eye on the shuttle. He wanted to make sure they weren't going to run, if they did they had a few surprises all of them not lethal. "Channel open." He said while making sure they not only had the ability to receive, but to answer if they didn't ignore the hail.

The viewscreen flashed to life, displaying a rather smug-looking Orion male with thick black hair. His scarred face might have been handsome at one time, but now it just looked mean.

“Nice try, Starfleet,” he sneered. “But unless Riani has become a Federation colony in the past 24 hours, you have no jurisdiction here. If you had an extradition order for this individual, you would have produced it instead of wasting my time. Now, if you’re finished making threats, we’d like to be on our way.”

The Orion captain crossed his arms impatiently, but did not disconnect the comm link.

With his insight developed over years of experience, Brooks sensed some apprehension beneath the Orion captain’s hostility. He was not eager to test Aquila’s might.


== For Coppola ==

Aquila’s tactical sensors would see that the shuttle’s shields emitters had come online.

The response didn't take too long, it wasn't the friendliest he had seen by far. It kind of reminded him of a dog an old girlfriend had, he was aggressive showing his teeth in anger while sitting inside her purse. The image of swatting him in the nose with a newspaper made Cologero grin a little, or a little squirt of water to the face. 

"Captain their Shield emitters are on line." He said knowing there wasn't much he could do at this second, the most he could do was fire up the tractor beam. It wasn't active nor locked on, it was a free floating lock so the sensors wouldn't be pick it up. The last thing he did was to ready the shuttle bay incase he was ordered to guide them in, there wasn't an active order at this time but being ready for anything was what he did.

The viewscreen flashed up with a smug looking Orion male, Daniel icy blue eyes studied the male as he went onto tell them the reasons why they couldn't intervene with the situation.

Brooks relaxed his stance slightly, hands folding behind his back, shifting his weight casually, one corner of Dan's mouth lifting in an almost friendly smile.

"You're absolutely right. Riani isn't Federation territory, and we're not here to pretend otherwise."

Given a small but brief pause with a light gesture as if smoothing the air between them.

"Which is precisely why we came to speak rather than act, however, I didn't know what your reaction would be. Voluntary cooperation tends to resolve matters quickly and quietly. Given the alternatives that tend to arise in this region, I'd have thought that it would be in all our best interests if you offloaded your guest to us."

Brooks then added, "If we were out of line, you wouldn't have stopped to argue with us about our jurisdiction. You know what the best answer is for all of us in this situation."
